Allie's Baptism

On Sunday, March 9 Allie was baptised and her Godparents are Jackie and Jonathan. Allie looked cute in her little gown, in fact like predicted, she couldn't sit still during church. She ran around the narthex. I have never received so many comments from people in the narthex on how cute she looked running around in her white gown. Afterwards, we headed back to our house for brunch and was able to visit a little before everyone left to go back home. With the exception of Jackie and Jonathan, they stayed until Wednesday.

Allie started to get sick Tuesday night with really bad smelling and runny diapers. She became very needy, wouldn't play by herself and would get very angry if I left the room. We ended taking her in to urgent care and we did a poop sample ... yes, it's that disgusting and then eventually took her in to see her normal pediatrician. The doctor confirmed that there was a stomach virus going around the last few months with kids. There was nothing they could do about it and gave us a list of things to watch for. We kept pushing the liquids on her to keep her hydrated and it eventually went away two and a half weeks later.

Allie's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday, March 8 we celebrated Allie's first birthday. Nana and Papa came up Friday afternoon and then Jackie and Jonathan arrived from Texas late Friday night. The party was held in the Executive Center at Mall of America. I didn't get to take that many pictures because of all the running around. Allie was super tired and very cranky. Little did we know this was the beginning of a nasty stomach bug that would last two and a half weeks. We appreciate everyone who came Uncle Garry, Nana and Papa, Jonathan and Jackie, the Swanson Clan and all of our friends.

SOLD

On January 30, 2014 our townhome went on the market. We had a lot of individual showings and spent a lot of time away from home. The worst part was keeping the house clean and with Allie's first birthday and baptism quickly approaching, I wasn't sure how we were going to manage that. Everyone that liked it loved the layout and the open feel. A downside was the bathroom in the basement, nobody liked the textured walls. We didn't either when we moved in but we didn't mind them.

From then, we spent random days looking at houses in the area. Thanks to our Minnesota Grandma, Paulette, for watching the girls.

It was only on the market about a month and we received an offer on March 2! We got the message when we got out of church. Our realtor had already planned for an open house this day but we ended up filling out paperwork and making plans to make an offer on a house that we really liked.

Dwight liked this house from the moment we drove by and I was very hesitant because it's a split level, I wanted a house that didn't have stairs from the kitchen to the garage. It was nice inside, 5 bedrooms plus a den. It has a 3-car garage and almost 2,500 sq ft. The fenced in backyard is next to a parks baseball fields. That night after looking at it, it was all I could think about. We looked at it twice but we were still waiting for our house to sell. After we got the offer on our home, we looked at the house we liked one last time before putting an offer in. After many calls with our Realtor, we got it and didn't back down ... we were ready to walk if need be.

Here are just a few pictures of our new digs. We close on April 17 and we are so excited!

Allie 12 Months Old

Allie Is 12 Months Old!
Allie loves to look at her books and herself in the fireplace.
She runs around our center wall, like MK did when she was little.
She can eat and eat and eat!
Loves drinking from a big girl cup but prefers water over milk.
Loves her car seat facing forward, likes to watch the kids at the bus stop.
She walks around with her hands behind her back.
Allie puts her hands on her face when we say "Oh No!"
She sleeps in until 8am almost every morning.
