Raise Money For RES

We are one of a few schools where kids do not go out to sell items but instead we collect Box Tops for Education, Kwik Trip Milk Moola caps, soup Labels for Education, etc. A few other ways to help Makayla's school is through these following programs ...

Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile is a simple way for you to support RES every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you'll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate 0.5% of the pruchase price to RES.

To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to smile.amazon.com and enter Rosemount Elementary Parent Teacher Organization as your chosen charity. You use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry and other account settings are also the same. You may also want to add a bookmark to AmazonSmile because you must use AmazonSmile each time in order for RES to get the money. Orders on the regular Amazon site will not count toward contributions.

Target Red Card
In the last few years, target has donated thousands of dollars to RES. Target's Take Charge of Education program allows you to easily support RES by enrolling online or in a Target store for a Target REDcard; debit or credit card. Sign up for a REDcard and you will receive 5% off each Target and target.com purchase, free shipping and 1% of your purchases will go directly to RES! If you already have a REDcard, please go online or to customer service in a store to make Rosemount Elementary School the school associated with your REDcard.

Thanks in advance!

Snacking

For the last week, Allie has been going downstairs to eat Mister's food ... gross, I know! After Paulette's brilliant suggestion of adding a gate ... why didn't we think of this before?!? Problem solved!

Pee Pee On The Potty

Well, she didn't go pee pee on the potty but the process has started. Allie already tells us after she goes in her diaper and then brings us a diaper saying "pee pee". So, we figured now is a good time as any. Dwight started when he got home from work and I continued until bedtime. Dwight created her potty chart, which she is proudly standing in front of. Allie gets one small sticker for trying to go and one M&M. If she does go, she will get a big happy face sticker and then four M&Ms. We are very hopeful she will have a successful pee pee in the potty this week, fingers crossed!

SOTV Christmas Program

Makayla had her Christmas program at church on Saturday. Since she had a speaking part, she attending two rehearsals. She was supposed to run down the isle and yell "Merry Christmas", at the end she was supposed to say "I love shopping". She even had a part during their first song, she was supposed to shout out "Give me a break will ya!"

I was a little disappointed in this years production. The program consisted of the adults talking, who were playing the two main rolls. The kids only sang while the sets changed. Makayla and three others were supposed to have microphones so you could hear them and they didn't, we couldn't make out what they were saying because the band was playing so loud. All in all, it was a good message ... just more adult focused than previous years, disappointing.

Our Minnesota Grandma, Paulette, and her daughter Jackie attended with us. Paulette came back to the house afterwards and had wine and appetizers.

Homemade Gifts

We started a tradition about 3 or 4 years ago that one gift (for each person in the house) needed to be homemade and that gift would be opened on Christmas Eve when the rest of the gifts are opened Christmas Day. Makayla made Allie a Sesame Street blanket and it turned out really well. She has kept her other projects pretty hush hush, I guess we'll find out on Christmas Eve!

Lunch With Makayla (Jill and Josh)

On Monday Jill and Josh went to have lunch with Makayla at school. We picked up Wendy's and were able to sit at a different table, other than with her class, so we had a little bit more room.

Fun Morning At NU

Thanksgiving Week

Let's see if I can recap Thanksgiving. My mom was with us for almost 2 1/2 weeks, my nephew Bradley was with us for 1 week, my niece Jill and her family was here for a week, my brother Garry came the day of Thanksgiving and my dad, with my sister Debbie, was here for about 5 days. That was a house full and very thankful that we had plenty of room for everyone!
