Haunted Woods Trail

Every year Rosemount's area businesses come together to hand out candy and other fun stuff to kids at Central Park, this is called Haunted Woods Trail. The attendance grows bigger every year, this year it was close to 3,000 people! By the time we waited in line and went through the trail it was going on 2 hours! My friend, Paulette (our Minnesota G-Ma) came over for dinner and went through the trail with us.

Halloween Party

We hosted a Halloween party for 8 of Makayla's friends. The kids started off by eating pizza and then the fun began! Hidden around the house was clues in solving the mystery of the witch, along with curses and spells to break those curses. The kids had a great time acting out the curses and then rehiding the curse cards for the others to find. After they found out the witch's name and all the curses were broken, they had ice cream and received spooky treat bags.

Most of the pictures didn't turn out, I didn't realize what setting I was on while taking them.

Two of Makayla's friends had to leave early so they didn't make it in the group picture.

Meeting Grace Lin

Makayla just read the book Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin for her book club. Grace Lin was scheduled to visit Rosemount towards the end of October. Makayla and I went to hear Grace Lin speak on how she became an author and illustrator. Afterwards she signed copies of her books.

Pumpkins ... aka MOMMYS

Every year we head to Pahl's Market for our pumpkins, they usually have a huge variety! This year Allie had lots of fun getting to pick out her own pumpkin. We tried to get her to say pumpkin but she would call them mommy's ... a fun inside joke we had this month!  A few weeks later we gutted them out. At first Allie didn't want anything to do with the guts but after she was given a spoon, she dug right in! Dwight and Makayla did more traditional jack-o-lantern faces while I carved out Elmo for Allie.

Apple Picking

We actually hit the apple orchard pretty late this year as there wasn't too many apples to pick off the tree. We had fun searching though, Allie had fun running around and eating apples. Besides bananas, Allie loves apples and usually can be found sneaking apples from the bowl that sits on the table.
