Christmas With The Swansons

We went down for the day to celebrate Christmas with Dwight's brother and his family. The cousins had a great time playing together like they always do.

Merry Christmas

This was the first year we didn't get a real tree. Since Allie started crawling, we decided to get a little fake tree this year. My brother Garry and my nephew Bradley came over for the day. With all the excitement Allie didn't take a nap, though she did finally conk out while eating a late lunch.



Homemade Gift

A tradition in our house is to at least make one homemade gift for each one in the family at Christmas time, which we open on Christmas Eve. Since almost all of Makayla's craft supplies are in storage we decided not to make any gifts, though I couldn't resist drawing one of Makayla's characters from a story that she wrote. She was super excited to see one of her characters come to life!

Goodbye Tiny Tim

On Tiny Tim's last day with us, before Santa picked him up on Christmas Eve, Santa lifted the magic for a few minutes. Each of the girls were able to give him a goodbye hug and kiss. He even brought a few presents for them.

Christmas Program At Church

Makayla had her Christmas program on Saturday at church. My friend Paulette came to enjoy the festivities. The goal was to have the girls wear their Christmas dresses from my sister but we had a few accidents Saturday morning so both girls had to change clothes. Allie puked on the black part of her dress and then Makayla slipped and fell while getting into the truck and the bottom white part of her dress got dirty. The plan is to wear them to Christmas Eve service.

Allie Is 9 Months Old

Allie is 9 months old!

She crawls like a normal baby, pulls herself up and climbs the stairs.

She started eating table food, loves chicken and hates avocado.

Not only does she pull Mister's tail but now she bites it.

Talks to her dolly.

Uses her crib has a teething item, lots of bite marks.

When you ask her to give you a kiss, she leans in to give you one.

She knows where Papa Swanson is when you say his name.

Loves her sister and screams when she's out of sight.

Happy Thanksgiving

My parents came up the day before Thanksgiving and stayed with us until Saturday. My brother and nephew came up to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with us. Makayla helped me prepare all the food, she loves to cook since she watched Master Junior Chef on TV. Allie was decked out in her turkey outfit and bib from the Kiefers and enjoyed turkey and rice.
